Chris_nin00's Charmander(Flareway) build
Hello Mesmer-goers!
May I present The Charmander(Flareway) build!
Profession: Mesmer/Elementalist
Name: Chris_nin00's Charmander(Flareway) build
Type: General PvP
Category: Damage Over Time
Attributes:
Fast Casting: 10+4+1
Inspiration Magic: 8+1
Fire Magic: 12
Skills Set:
Channeling
Fire Attunement
Elemental Attunement
Mark of Rodgort
Flare
Drain Enchantment/Energy Tap/Hex Breaker
Ether feast/Fireball/
Res Sig
Summary:This build is spams Flare with Mark of Rodgort Hex, which therefore is damage over time. This build puts the chosen target on fire and in a sort of skirmish.
To start off, use Channeling, fire attunement, and Elemental attunement in the given order. Then choose a target to attack. Use Mark of Rodgort on the target. Then, spam flare.
Use Ether Feast to heal yourself; Drain Enchantment to kill a disturbing spell or get some energy; Res Sig when someone is dead.
Notes & Concerns: This build is very fun to play! There are some warnings though.
Pros:
-40 damage per second plus target set on fire.
-Easy to set up
-Fun to play
Cons:
-Enchantment Renderers will eat you alive.
Remember that this build is for fun purposes only. Not for serious PvP. Unless you are into that kind of stuff.

Just curious, but wasn't it shown that an elementalist with conjure flame, a fire wand, and tiger's fury did more damage than flareway?
Also, you'll want to use the enchantments in the order elem. attun., fire attun., then channeling, so that channeling covers the others.
Might I suggest fireball instead of ether feast? You can get a bit more damage from it, and just cast it when it recharges. With 16 fast casting, it should go off fairly quick.

Maybe you could bring in the best of both worlds by going E/R, use Conjure Flame, a fire wand, tigers fury, AND Mark of Rodgert?
All in all a sort of weak build, you can be countered by something as simple as Healing Breeze, or hex removal.

lol chris, why didnt you call it the charmander build?
other than that seems fun to play, especially since all people in pvp despise mesmers for enemies, channeling ftw!

/doh! I can't read posts like that.
I don't think any spell can 'cover' it.
Any Ideas?
I should've named it Charmander, thanks for the name I.F. I'll change it now!

The idea behind the cover is to put something on the target so that, should a remove hex be used on that target, the cover hex gets taken off.
An example is conjure phantasm. If you put mark of rodgort on a target, then conjure phantasm, conjure works like a cover, preventing mark from getting removed easily (and thus making you deal more damage)

Stoneway is fun too. The sound the little daggers make as they're flying out gets kinda annoying though.

This build was made for fun and the thrill of setting someone on fire .
This build is the basis of Flareway. It's Your job to build off it.

Wouldn't an elementalist have better luck with energy storage? Flare's such a fast cast, 16 in FC isn't worth it. You'd get more bang as an E/me. You could even use Elm runes for Fire to makes this build almost as good as someone wanding someone!

Have you never heard of doing something for fun, or because you can? So what if there are better ways of doing it with a different class. It doesnt matter. If it can be done, do it just to try it. Why do you have to constantly talk down about shit like this?
Back on topic: You ever try Mantra of Flame to go head to head with a Fire Elem a little easier, and gain Energy from the battle?

And me forgetting all about the attuments for some reason and telling peeps to bring E-drain instead did not really help. N00bs like me should not be allowed into GW at all.

flareway/stoneway is actually a lot better than you guys gve it credit for.
my first time ever running this build in TA with some peeps i got 11 consecutive and half of my group had no idea what they were doing.
i use meteor in my flareway though because its a good spell thats useful for stopping runners and, if timed right, spell interruption.
good build though, people should post their stoneway builds too as im curious as to what other people are using.
if anyone is ever looking for a flare/stonewayer contact me ingame, i can never find people to do it with but i really want to.
